Job Summary

Verify patient information, record medical history, and confirm visit purposes through direct interviews. Prepare patients for examinations by performing preliminary physical tests, taking vital signs, and reporting abnormal findings to providers. Prioritize infection control practices, maintain sterile technique, and draw blood samples for laboratory analysis. Secure medical records, perform diagnostic and procedure coding, and ensure room disinfection between visits. Inventory supplies, request refills, and perform preventive maintenance on equipment while troubleshooting breakdowns. Assist with complex procedures such as HRA and DXA bone density scans. Maintain accurate documentation for all patient encounters and comply with legal regulations. Float to all locations as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidate should be willing and able to float to all locations on an as-needed basis
  • Requires a high school diploma
  • Medical Assistant certificate or equivalent experience such as 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Ability to type 40+ wpm and have experience with healthcare software
  • Have the appropriate level of behavioral maturity and patience in handling patients
  • Have diplomacy and tact in handling difficult and irate patients
  • Ability to work effectively with men and transgender women of diverse races, ethnicities, ages, and sexual orientation in a multicultural environment
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test as well as a background check to include a 7-year criminal, 10-year SSN & employer history reference check as well as a pre-employment background check
  • Must be able to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination on first day of work
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules
  • Must take yearly flu shot and test for tuberculosis as required by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail

Desired Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy license (preferred)
  • Experience in HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C and chronic diseases care/ management (preferred)
