Job Summary
Medical Assistant works directly with a Physician to assist in examination and interviewing of patients and perform basic office duties. On-site position with clinical supervision from licensed providers. Responsibilities include assisting assessment and examination, recording patient information in the EMR (BHCEMR), monitoring patient welfare until examination or procedure, assisting with patient forms, inspecting exam/stock rooms, maintaining supplies, and traveling to other office locations as needed. Requires High School Diploma or GED, completion of an MA program, BCLS with AED, 1 year clinical experience, proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word, EMR usage, strong communication and interpersonal skills, HIPAA knowledge, and bilingual Spanish/English preferred. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant course from an accredited/recognized school
- Current BCLS with AED certificates
- Experience in a medical clinic, hospital or SNF setting: 1 year
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical documentation
- Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Must be comfortable using Electronic Medical Record software
- Ability to effectively present information, both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with patients, medical professionals, and co-workers
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations per HIPAA
- Bi-lingual - Spanish/English strongly preferred
