Job Summary
The Medical Assistant works directly with a Physician to assist in the examination and interviewing of patients and perform basic office duties. This is an on-site position. Medical Assistants receive clinical supervision and direction solely from licensed providers. The Clinic Operation Manager provides administrative and operational oversight only. You will record patient information, enter data into the BHCEMR system, assist in patient assessment and examination, maintain exam and stock rooms, support forms completion, and may travel to other office locations as needed. Requires HS diploma or GED, MA program completion, BCLS with AED, 1 year medical setting experience, strong computer skills, HIPAA knowledge, bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant course from an accredited/recognized school
- Current BCLS with AED certificates
- Experience in a medical clinic, hospital or SNF setting: 1 year
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical documentation
- Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Must be comfortable using Electronic Medical Record software
- Ability to effectively present information, both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, medical professionals, and co-workers
- Knowledge of all state and federal regulations pertaining to confidentiality pursuant to HIPAA, treatment, and safety guidelines
- Ability to anticipate patient needs and take proactive measures to meet those needs and resolve issues (within scope of practice)
- Interested in being an effective team member who is flexible, cooperative, and willing to assist others
- Bi-lingual - Spanish/English strongly preferred
