Job Summary
Monitor residents' vital signs including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate while ensuring proper equipment calibration and maintenance. Accurately record data in electronic health records, analyze trends to detect health issues, and generate reports for clinical teams. Promptly notify staff and physicians of abnormal readings, assist in emergency interventions, and coordinate care plan adjustments. Communicate health updates to families, train staff on monitoring techniques, and facilitate telehealth visits when needed. Adhere to regulatory guidelines and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Requires active Medical Assistant Certification, experience in long-term care, and ability to lift 20 pounds while standing for up to 8 hours daily.
Required Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant Certification
- Prior experience in vital signs monitoring or a similar healthcare role, preferably in a long-term care or nursing home setting
- Proficiency in using monitoring equipment and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify irregularities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and act swiftly in emergencies
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
- Must be able to stand / walk / work on your feet up to 6-8 hours per day
