Job Summary
Conduct patient intake, measure vital signs, and perform routine diagnostic testing while collaborating with care teams to greet and room members. Critically listen during appointments to report changing conditions to providers, manage patient phone messages, and relay pertinent information. Change dressings, apply bandages, and utilize CPR skills under physician supervision, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and accurate documentation. Provide health coaching to support healthy lifestyle choices and follow up via weekly calls. Report to regional centers with short notice; schedule is posted weekly, though last-minute float calls occur with reimbursed travel mileage. Requires high school diploma, accredited medical assistant program, three years of MA experience, one year of phlebotomy, BLS certification, and EMR proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education (GED)
- Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR comparable healthcare vocational training (i.e. foreign-trained physician, paramedic, etc.)
- A minimum of 3 years work experience as a Medical Assistant
- 1 year of phlebotomy experience
- BLS for Healthcare Providers
- EClinicalWorks or similar EMR experience
- Ability to travel on occasion for company meetings
- Must possess a high degree of emotional intelligence and integrity, driven and focused work ethic
- Self-starter with the ability to think creatively and work effectively
- Ability to work effectively with various seniorities and diverse populations including staff, providers, members, family members, insurance carriers, vendors and market leadership
- Strong communicator that is customer-oriented
- Excellent critical reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to analyze situations, determine risks, and find solutions to prevent future issues and resolve recurring defects
- Experience with claims/quality reports and analytical software packages
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel plus a variety of other word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail and presentation software
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus
