Job Summary
Medical Assistant in urgent care performing patient-facing care and clinical support. Responsibilities include engaging patients, explaining medications and treatment options, triaging to assess urgency, taking vital signs, phlebotomy, documenting in EHRs, and assisting with minor procedures under supervision. Administers prescribed medications per state guidelines (NH & ME only) and collaborates with the clinical team on discharge planning and patient education. Supports training of new team members and helps maintain smooth clinic operations. Requires 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling (full-time, part-time, or per diem), travel within a one-hour radius to multiple ConvenientMD locations, and willingness to cover training shifts off-site when needed. Education: High school diploma or GED; MA certification with 1 year (or 2 years) MA experience; BLS certification. Location: Belfast, Maine, USA.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant certification with at least one year of experience or two years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Proactive, compassionate, patient-focused
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn Experity and other systems
