Job Summary
Medical Assistant role supporting clinical operations in an urgent care setting. Responsibilities include engaging with patients, explaining medications and treatment plans, triaging and performing basic clinical procedures (vital signs, histories, phlebotomy, assisting with minor procedures), documenting in EHRs, administering medications under supervision in NH & ME per regulations, and collaborating with the clinical team on discharge plans and training new staff. Requires availability for 12-hour shifts with weekend coverage and potential travel to multiple ConvenientMD locations within a 1-hour radius. Must have a high school diploma or GED, an MA certification with 1 year (or 2 years) MA experience, and BLS certification; strong communication, confidentiality, and teamwork skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant certification with at least one year of experience or two years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (no online-only)
- Compassionate, patient-focused demeanor
- Proactive and confident communicator (written and verbal)
- Trustworthy with HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information
- Effective collaboration with clinicians and teams
- Technically proficient with Microsoft Office; ability to learn Experity and other systems
