Job Summary
As a Medical Assistant in Surgical Specialties (Per Diem), you will support providers and the ambulatory care team by welcoming patients, taking vital signs and histories, preparing patients for exams, assisting with procedures, administering medications and vaccines as directed, performing lab tasks and point-of-care testing, and documenting care in the electronic health record. The role emphasizes compassionate, high-quality patient care across Downers Grove, Park Ridge, and Chicago sites, with scheduling as-needed Monday through Friday (1–4 shifts per month) between 0800-1730. Requires completion of an MA program or equivalent experience, or current MA certification with two years of experience. Candidates should be prepared to work in a dynamic outpatient setting and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver coordinated care.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited or approved Medical Assistant program OR 2 years of verifiable full-time Medical Assistant experience within the last 5 years
- Must have or be able to obtain Medical Assistant certification if not already certified
