Job Summary
Medical Assistant role providing clinical support in SAC Health clinics. Responsibilities include escorting patients to exam rooms, obtaining vital signs, taking patient medical history, performing authorized basic testing (throat cultures, EKGs, TB skin testing, immunizations, hearing tests, visual acuity, urine tests, phlebotomy), processing authorizations, patient forms, medical records, lab and exam room upkeep, specimen handling, assisting providers with procedures, and supporting a collaborative, culturally sensitive patient-centered environment. Requires ability to work with rotating doctors/residents/interns, and to maintain logs and program information for SAC Health initiatives; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. Must be legally able to work full-time in the U.S. and EPIC experience is needed for the assigned module; CMA certification is preferred. Competitive benefits and PTO are highlighted.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant Program required
- Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- EPIC certification for the hired module
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Experience with VFC program a plus
