Job Summary
Medical Assistant for Radiation Oncology/Ambulatory Unit at Brock Cancer Center in Norfolk, VA. Responsibilities include patient care and administrative/clerical tasks under supervision of clinicians. Must obtain one of several MA/CMA/EMT certifications within 9 months of hire. Requires high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience; phlebotomy experience preferred; BLS within 90 days. Full-time, day shift with rotating hours (630a–8p) based on patient load, in a cancer center setting. Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or GED REQUIRED
- Must acquire one of the following certifications within nine months of hire: Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Clinical Certified Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician Basic
- Experience: Minimum of one year experience in a clinical/administrative setting REQUIRED
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
