Job Summary
Provide patient care, clinical summaries, and direction on next steps or follow-up. Perform phlebotomy for patients as needed and prepare patients for visits by collecting and recording clinical information per protocol. Manage patients according to approved protocols, carry out standing orders, and document all interactions accurately in the electronic health record. Schedule tests, treatments, and follow-up visits; assist patients with identifying outside resources and refer when appropriate. Answer and document patient phone calls, monitor task pools, and follow up on overdue orders or critical referrals. Maintain oversight of temperature monitoring in coordination with Regional Nurse Managers and adhere to infection control regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of Accredited Medical Assistant program
- Completed relevant medical assisting training by any branch of the armed forces of the United States
- 2+ years of aide or tech level work experience in healthcare
- Must be able to perform phlebotomy for patients as needed
- Must maintain knowledge of current coding, OSHA and CLIA regulations and company policies
- Must adhere to all patient safety initiatives and infection control regulations
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited MA program
- Completed relevant medical assisting training by any branch of the armed forced of the United States
- Certified / Registered Medical Assistant from AAMA, NHA, NCCT, or AMT
- CPR/BLS Certification
- 1+ years of MA experience
- Experience working with Epic
- Experience working in a primary care office
- Intermediate level of computer proficiency
