Job Summary
Medical Assistant or LPN in an ENT clinic providing direct patient care across multiple sites. Responsibilities include rooming patients with vital signs, medical history, medication reconciliation, screenings (e.g., depression, falls, social drivers of health), assisting with procedures, venipuncture and specimen collection, POCT and CLIA-waived tests, safe administration of medications and vaccines, phone and front-desk support including referrals and insurance authorizations, scheduling, and cross-training for clinic duties. Must maintain a clean, stocked, and safe clinical environment; ensure age-appropriate patient care; demonstrate effective communication and teamwork; and adhere to the department’s policies and procedures. Requires ongoing training/competency and the ability to work Monday–Friday with no weekends or holidays, with occasional travel to multiple sites as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable full-time MA experience within last 5 years
- Licensed Practical Nurse license (WI IL divisions) and active WI or IL license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 45 days unless exempted by department leader
- 6 months to 1 year Medical Assistant or LPN experience
- Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within MA scope of practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport with patients, team members, and physicians
- Proficient computer skills including EMR systems and standard Windows applications
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds; patient handling equipment for heavier lifts as needed
- Knowledge of age-specific patient care needs and growth/development concepts
- Willingness to fulfill duties such as medication administration, lab specimen handling, and vaccines as required
- Compliance with department policies and quality/safety standards
