Job Summary
Medical Assistant or LPN in an Internal Medicine clinic. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings; assist provider with procedures; perform lab duties including venipuncture, specimen handling, and order/ requisition processing; conduct CLIA-waived tests and related diagnostics; administer medications and vaccines following medication administration rights; handle referrals, scheduling, and insurance authorizations; cross-train for clinic duties; maintain patient communication and teamwork; ensure a clean/ stocked work environment; care for patients across age groups per department standards; 40-hour work week, Monday–Friday, no weekends/holidays; minimum education and licensure as specified; BLS certification required within 45 days unless exempt.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited/approved Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable full-time Medical Assistant experience within last 5 years
- Licensed Practical Nursing Certification/License (IL/WI divisions)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by AHA (within 45 days unless exempt)
