Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in a dermatology clinic setting, including preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, and gathering health information; assist physicians/APC with procedures (pelvic exams, allergy testing, EMG, colposcopy, etc.); administer routine medications under orders or standing protocols; perform laboratory procedures (strep tests, wound cultures, specimen collection) and basic phlebotomy when needed; maintain clinic flow and coordinate referrals and follow-ups; ensure patient safety and privacy, communicate clearly with patients and healthcare team, and adhere to infection control guidelines; licensure as an LPN or completion of an approved Medical Assistant program (or MA experience) with BLS certification required, with potential sign-on bonus eligibility noted in the posting.
Required Qualifications
- Active LPN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association
- LPN program completed and licensed in state of practice OR Medical Assistant program completed or 2 years verifiable full-time MA experience within last 5 years
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records systems
- Ability to perform routine and complex clinical skills within MA scope of practice after demonstrated competency
- Ability to perform phlebotomy, EKG, and basic lab procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform rooming and patient care tasks as required
