Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant collaborates with the primary care physician to deliver patient care within Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines; duties include reviewing/updating health records, measuring vital signs, preparing treatment rooms, greeting patients, handling clerical tasks, reviewing diagnostic results, and supporting a fast-paced office in Urbana Family Medicine & Pediatrics; requires CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NCCT or equivalent certification and High School diploma or GED, with BLS and LPN licensure options noted for broader roles.
Required Qualifications
- Active Medical Assisting certification from one of the following (required within 12 months of start date): CMA; RMA; CCMA; NHA; NCMA; NCCT; NRCMA; NCCT
- BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for certain Mercy Health locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at some locations)
- Education: High School Degree or GED
- Experience: One year of medical assistant healthcare experience (preferred, not required)
- Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office (preferred, not required)
