Job Summary
Provides direct patient care and customer service under the direction of the Medical Support Staff Supervisor and assigned medical provider. Responsibilities include assisting providers, facilitating pre-visit planning, updating patient records, performing patient intake, and managing immunization and medication protocols. Requires a High School Diploma or GED, completion of a Medical Assistant program, CPR certification, and proficiency in English. Bilingual skills are preferred. Position may involve travel and requires reliable transportation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program or completed medical training program
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Certified Medical Assistant certification within 6 months of hire
- Valid Fingerprint clearance card
- Reliable transportation that can meet operational needs
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
- Knowledge of health plans and community health centers (preferred)
- Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations
