Job Summary
Medical Assistant – Geriatrics in a Primary Care Clinic: perform room setup and patient preparation, take vitals (manual & electronic), perform EKG, draw blood and administer injections/immunizations, conduct point-of-care testing, and handle administrative duties. Requires completion of an MA program with externship/internship or EMT/Paramedic training; preferred certifications include CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA/CMAC. Emphasizes compassionate, team-oriented care for older adults with strong interpersonal and communication skills; supports overall patient experience and whole-person care.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successful completion of accredited/approved MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT, or Paramedic program
- In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills
