Job Summary
Conduct patient interviews, measure vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations and treatments. Collect blood, urine, and sputum samples, perform routine laboratory tests, and assist physicians with ordered procedures. Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for appointments. This part-time role supports the Gastroenterology outpatient center at Ohio State University Physicians, which operates over 100 locations and employs more than 1,800 staff members. Certified Medical Assistants receive additional compensation, and tuition reimbursement is available for certification costs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program
- Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience
- Military Medic training
- EMT-P (Paramedic) training
- Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
