Job Summary
Check in patients, take vitals, and triage individuals for the pain clinic. Assist physicians before, during, and after procedures, including operating the C-arm and preparing procedure rooms. Document patient notes in the eClinicalWorks EMR system and obtain prior authorizations for treatments. Manage front desk processes, fax notes to other practices, and handle difficult patient situations with professionalism. Perform other duties as assigned in a fast-paced office environment requiring frequent standing and walking.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Must be a certified or registered medical assistant
- Two years' medical assisting experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency with EMRs
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, physicians, and external customers
- Strong ability to multitask and move from one project to another as needed
- Works to resolve problems or determines an appropriate course of action in a timely manner
- Strong time management, follow-through, and organizational skills
- Must possess sufficient eye-hand coordination/manual dexterity to operate medical and office equipment
- Required normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports and evaluations
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds with no assistance
Desired Qualifications
- Two years' medical assisting experience strongly preferred
