Job Summary
Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, measure vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations. Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and waived point-of-care testing, including ordering and performing tests for conditions like strep and glucose. Ensure the electronic medical record is updated with accurate medical information, medications, allergies, and visit status. Reconcile medications, set up pending refills, and advise patients on required pre-visit testing. Maintain efficient patient flow to optimize appointment availability while resolving minor concerns. Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 7:30am and 6:00pm. Hourly pay ranges from $16.00 to $25.00.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalency certificate from an accredited institution or governmental unit or a Medical Assistant Certification
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Experience typically acquired through 1+ years of experience in a clinical or customer service setting as determined by the department (a bachelor's or associate degree may be substituted for experience)
- Associate degree in medical assisting or graduate of medical assistant certification program
- Experience working with EPIC EMR software
