Job Summary
Conduct clinical care under the direction of an LPN, RN, or provider by assisting with administrative, clinical, and clerical duties including taking patient histories, scheduling appointments, and rooming patients. Prepare patients and equipment for exams or procedures, maintain clinical areas, and collect lab specimens while communicating identified patient risks to licensed staff. Perform front office support by greeting patients, collecting co-payments, updating demographics, and obtaining referrals or pre-certifications while adhering to EMR workflows. Requires a Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant and Basic Life Support certification. Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Scranton.
Required Qualifications
- Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant
- Ability to accept and adapt to constant change within a healthcare setting
- Ability to take initiative and function independently as well as collaboratively
- Excellent computer skills including EMR, word processing, and Excel
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days

- Associate's Degree from a Medical Assistant Program
- CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant - NHA - State of Pennsylvania
- CMA - Certified Medical Assistant - AAMA - State of Pennsylvania
- CMAC - Clinical Medical Assistant Certification - AMCA - State of Pennsylvania
- MAC - Medical Assistant Certified - AMCA - State of Pennsylvania
- NCMA - National Certified Medical Assistant - NCTT - State of Pennsylvania
- NRCMA - National Registered Certified Medical Assistant - NAHP - State of Pennsylvania
- RMA - Registered Medical Assistant AMT - State of Pennsylvania
