Job Summary
Collect patient information, chart within scope of license, perform phlebotomy, and process lab samples as directed by providers. Administer medications, triage patients according to clinical policy, and accurately document all patient data in the electronic medical record. Accompany patients to exam rooms, assist with transfers and specimen collection, and relay instructions while providing patient education. Prepare and disinfect exam rooms, manage facility inventory, and call patients with lab results. Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and CLIA regulations while maintaining confidentiality. Requires Indiana MA licensure, one year of clinical experience, and ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Assistant (MA) licensed in the state of Indiana
- college education as per licensing requirements
- high school diploma, or equivalent
- Minimum one (1) year experience as a MA in an outpatient medical clinic, medical office, or hospital setting
- exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- strong understanding of ethical behavior and confidentiality
- advanced critical thinking and organizational abilities
- Ability to operate office and medical equipment standard in a clinical medical environment
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
