Job Summary
Escort patients to examination rooms, take medical histories, and perform vitals while conducting basic lab tests such as urinalysis, blood draws, and COVID swabs. Administer medications under the supervision of a medical provider, greet patients, handle phone calls, verify insurance, and manage appointments. Ensure the clinic is tidy and well-stocked while supporting co-workers to provide the best patient experience. Work flexible shifts including 12-hour weekday and 8-hour weekend rotations. High school diploma or equivalent required with current Medical Assistant certification and CPR/First Aid.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year in a medical setting
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Proven experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting
- Understanding of medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical procedures, equipment, and instruments
- Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
- Competence with common PC applications including Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Occasionally required to sit
- Occasionally required to walk
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to lift moderate weights (25-50 pounds)
- Finger dexterity required
- Hand coordination required
Desired Qualifications
- completion of a certified Medical Assistant program is preferred
- experience in Urgent Care is preferred
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families
- Willingness to take initiative and responsibility for actions
- Open to constructive criticism and feedback when necessary
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and third-party vendors
- Experience with EKGs and Phlebotomy preferred but not required
