Job Summary
Medical Assistant / Health Educator to provide health education to families with young children in home-based or office settings; work closely with Home Visitor staff on case management and provide training as needed. Reviews child health assessments, conducts prenatal and post-natal wellness checks, and makes health and welfare referrals. Ensures compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and Head Start Act documentation. Part-time role scheduled Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm (24 hours weekly); no evenings, weekends, or holidays. Requires HS diploma or GED and health-education/public health-related training, proficient in Microsoft Office, and a valid PA driver’s license with insurance; lifting up to 25 pounds. Preferred: Medical Assisting certification (MA/CMA/RMA) or CNA.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- training and experience in public health, nursing, health education, maternal and child health, or health administration
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must possess a valid driver's license which legally permits operating an Agency Vehicle in Pennsylvania
- Proof of automobile insurance coverage
- Lift, push or pull up to 25 pounds without assistance
