Job Summary
Conduct clinical care under the direction of an LPN, RN, or provider by assisting with administrative, clinical, and clerical duties. Prepare patients and equipment for exams and procedures, maintain exam rooms, and collect and prepare lab specimens. Perform medical history collection, medication refills, and obtain authorizations for referrals. Identify patient risks and communicate them to licensed staff, while adhering to EMR workflows and providing front office support such as greeting patients and collecting co-payments. Requires a Specialized Diploma and Basic Life Support certification. Variable day shift schedule at the Health Center at Kutztown.
Required Qualifications
- Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant
- Ability to accept and adapt to constant change within a healthcare setting
- Ability to take initiative and function independently as well as collaboratively
- Excellent computer skills including EMR, word processing, and Excel
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days

- Associate's Degree from a Medical Assistant Program
- CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant - NHA - State of Pennsylvania
- CMA - Certified Medical Assistant - AAMA - State of Pennsylvania
- CMAC - Clinical Medical Assistant Certification - AMCA - State of Pennsylvania
- MAC - Medical Assistant Certified - AMCA - State of Pennsylvania
- NCMA - National Certified Medical Assistant - NCTT - State of Pennsylvania
- NRCMA - National Registered Certified Medical Assistant - NAHP - State of Pennsylvania
- RMA - Registered Medical Assistant AMT - State of Pennsylvania
