Job Summary
As a Medical Assistant at Swope Health Services, you will prepare patients for medical examinations, take vital signs, assist providers, and enter clinical data into electronic health records. You will perform medical services under supervision, including medication administration and diagnostic procedures. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, be graduated from an accredited medical assistant program, and possess relevant certifications or experience. BLS certification is also required within three months of hire.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Graduated from an accredited medical assistant program
- Certification by NRCMA, RMA, CMA, NCMA, or CCMA
- If not certified, 2 years of experience in a private office, ambulatory care clinic, or hospital may be substituted
- If not graduated from an accredited program, 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certified, or able to obtain within 3 months of hire
- Ability to work well with people (staff, visitors, and clients)
Additional Requirements
- Must become certified if not certified upon hire
- Must complete courses to become certified in the future if lacking certification
