Job Summary
Medical Assistant Lead Certified supports urological services and functions as an effective member of the interdisciplinary team, performing routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the medical office running smoothly. Responsibilities include coordinating and scheduling patient appointments, training new Medical Assistants, acting as point person in the absence of the Office Manager, supervising clinic staff, greeting and preparing patients, recording vital signs, taking patient history and chief complaints, providing patient education on medications and home care, preparing patients for examinations and performing routine screening tests, assisting physicians with exams, performing phlebotomy and basic lab tests, EKGs, assisting with X-ray and physician procedures, administering medications with physician authorization, changing dressings, applying bandages, using CPR when necessary, documenting accurately and ethically, managing office flow and patient logs, and supporting regulatory compliance (HIPAA, OSHA, CMS). It also includes ongoing orientation/training of new personnel and ensuring proper handoffs and timely attendance in shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required.
- Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program required.
