Job Summary
Prepare examination rooms, escort patients, and ensure efficient patient flow while maintaining accurate documentation in the EHR and Practice Management System. Obtain vital signs, reconcile daily encounters, and manage medication lists and allergies. Answer telephone inquiries, schedule appointments, and provide referrals or consult orders. Administer medications and dispose of medical waste adhering to safety precautions. Provide scribing services and facilitate care transitions to UCC or hospital settings. Requires graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, BLS certification, and proficiency in computer use.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
- Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner
- Basic proficiency in computer use
- Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed
- Physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job, taking distance and speed into account
- Physical agility, which includes the ability to maneuver the body while in place
- Dexterity of hands and fingers
- Endurance (e.g. continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, walking)
- Understands and performs within the scope of practice
