Medical Assistant - Internal Medicine Residency Practice

Certified Medical Assistant performs a wide range of clinical duties under physician supervision in a medical office setting. Responsibilities include assisting the physician, phlebotomy (if applicable), lab procedures, sending specimens, obtaining preauthorizations and scheduling tests and specialist visits within network guidelines, following insurance carrier guidelines and Medicare regulations, maintaining ICD9 and CPT coding knowledge, acting as liaison between physician and patient, providing patient education and ensuring effective communication via Electronic Health Records, managing patient workups, chaperoning patients, assisting with procedures, maintaining clinical equipment and supplies, and supporting productivity to maximize physician visits.
