Job Summary
Medical Assistant in an ambulatory Internal Medicine clinic responsible for assisting clinicians, gathering patient information, communicating with patients via telephone and in person, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality patient care. The role emphasizes attention to detail, patient-centered communication, and support of clinical care processes under clinician supervision. Eligible candidates typically have MA program completion or relevant MA experience, current BLS, and MA certifications or RN/LPN licensure as applicable, with the position located at Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT. This is a full-time, 36-hour/week role with standard clinic hours Monday-Thursday 7:00am-5:00pm.
Required Qualifications
- Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers
- Utah Only: If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a yearlong MA residency program
