Job Summary
Medical Assistant in an outpatient internal medicine clinic providing direct patient care and clinical support. Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, reconciling medications, collecting patient history, facilitating patient flow, managing the EPIC EMR, scheduling appointments, processing medication requests, handling prior authorizations, and coordinating tests and procedures. Upon clinical competency completion, may perform EKGs, lab tests, injections, and/or phlebotomy. Requires regular on-site presence and strong communication/organizational skills to support providers.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency
- 1+ year(s) of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic or similar setting
- hands-on patient care (vital signs, history, medications, clinical procedures)
- EMR experience preferred (EPIC)
- Basic Life Support (AHA) within 90 days of hire
- BAT and DOT certifications within 90 days of hire for Occupational Medicine
- Preferred: CMA certification or graduate of accredited LPN/RN program with licensure
- Clinical competency assessment and MA orientation completion
