Job Summary
Greet patients, escort them to examination rooms, and verify their identity using approved identifiers. Obtain and document chief complaints, allergies, medications, and updates to medical, surgical, family, and social history. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures while ensuring comfort and maintaining privacy and confidentiality. Accurately document all visit components, orders, prescriptions, referrals, laboratory requests, and follow-up recommendations in the electronic medical record (EMR). Complete documentation promptly and maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA. This full-time role requires strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced clinical environment. Experience with EMR and in-office procedures is preferred, though training is provided for the right candidate.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare, medical office, or direct patient care setting or completion of a Medical Assistant training program
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
