Job Summary
Medical Assistant-Infusion role at Northwestern Medicine focusing on maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, and CLIA-waived testing, and supporting providers and staff. Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, documenting patient information and allergies, monitoring vital signs, setting up equipment, stocking rooms, and participating in environmental safety and inventory management. Requires high school diploma or GED, and current CMA/AMT/NCCT/NCMA/NRCMA or equivalent certification with onboarding commitments within six months; BLS/CPR certification also required. 0–2 years of relevant experience; strong computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records are expected. Preferred qualifications include completion of an accredited MA program and ambulatory care experience. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current certification in CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA/NRCMA or eligibility within six months
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- 0 to 2 years’ experience in a relevant role
- Strong computer skills
- Completion of accredited Medical Assistant training program (preferred)
- Experience with electronic medical record (preferred)
- Ambulatory care experience (preferred)
