Job Summary
Schedule diagnostic tests, obtain films and reports, and prepare laboratory specimens according to policy. Assist physicians and nurses with special procedures and examinations, while collaborating with the health care team to coordinate patient care plans. Perform vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures, then document findings in medical records. Maintain orderliness of examination rooms, stock supplies, and ensure par levels are met. Greet patients, handle registration, process insurance forms, and enter ambulatory care charges. Submit prescriptions and refills electronically, and ensure all required documentation is recorded and filed. Requires BLS certification within 14 days and CCMA certification preferred. Full-time role at The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- at least one year as a Medical Assistant
- CCMA or NCRMA certification
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
- Basic typing and word processing

Desired Qualifications
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or NCRMA
