Job Summary
Provide patient care under clinician direction in an ambulatory clinic setting, assisting the provider to gather information relative to the patient visit; communicate with patients via telephone and in person; collaborate with cross-functional teams to support patient care; maintain attention to detail and follow-through to ensure quality care. This role supports ongoing care in an infectious disease clinic at Intermountain Medical Center, with 40-hour full-time shifts, typical hours 8:00am–4:30pm, and delivery of compassionate, compliant care while safeguarding patient privacy and PHI.
Required Qualifications
- Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers
