Job Summary
Full-time Medical Assistant supporting the surgeon in an outpatient orthopedic clinic. Provides both clinical and administrative support including escorting patients, preparing exam rooms, assisting with examinations, wound care evaluation, splint/cast procedures, medication processing and patient education, coordinating referrals, charting, scheduling, and clerical duties. Roles include interacting with patients, physicians, and staff; handling phone calls, referrals, and documentation; and ensuring infection control and equipment readiness. Requires completion of an accredited MA program and CPR certification; orthopedic experience is preferred; familiarity with practice management and EHR software; strong communication and multitasking abilities are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program is a plus
- CPR certification
- Experience in an orthopedic healthcare setting is preferred
- Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Good verbal and written communication and writing skills
- Knowledge of practice management and EHR software
