Job Summary
Answer phones, schedule appointments, and enter data into medical records under direct supervision. Measure and record vital signs, collect patient demographics, and review medication lists. Prepare patients for examinations, clean rooms and equipment, and stock supplies. Administer medications as delegated. Requires CMA, RMA, or similar certification and completion of a formal MA training program including pharmacology and a clinical externship. Schedule is 40 hours weekly from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. CoxHealth serves 25 counties across southwest Missouri and northern Arkansas with six hospitals, five ERs, and over 80 clinics.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Graduated from or Completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship
- Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people
- Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting
