Job Summary
Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records, while executing clinical tasks including taking vital signs, recording medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and drawing blood. Operate independently or collaboratively under provider direction, utilizing proficient computer skills and excellent communication abilities. Obtain American Heart Association BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Work 40 hours per day shift from 8:30 to 5:00 at Cox Surgery Center in Springfield, Missouri.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship
- Graduated with an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Diploma
- Certification from a program recognized by CoxHealth - CMA (AAMA – American Association of Medical Assistants) OR RMA (AMT – American Medical Technologist, or American Association of Medical Personnel) OR NCMA (NCCT - National Center for Competency Testing), CCMA (NHA - National Health career Association), NRCMA (NAHP- National Association for Health Professionals )
- LPN
- American Heart Association BLS certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting
