Job Summary
Maintain patient flow by assisting and promoting primary and preventative health care delivery while performing technical procedures, lab protocols, and clinically oriented activities under physician direction. Act as an assistant to the provider for primary healthcare management, collaborate with clerical staff to optimize operations, and interact with outside healthcare facilities regarding patient care and insurance. Perform front office duties, provide coverage in other departments, and lead special programs such as CPC Plus or vaccine initiatives. Identify primary care gaps, conduct outreach, prepare charts, and manage care plans. Execute high-level disinfection and serve as a designated new hire preceptor or qualified language interpreter. Assist with complex procedures and infusion/chemo scheduling as part of the multi-site float pool.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a competency-based accredited MA program, including a clinical rotation, or equivalent experience
- 1 year (12 months) MA experience; or completed CH MA internship and (6) months MA experience; or completed CH MA apprenticeship program
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 30 days from hire
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 30 days from hire
- CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (CMA) - AAMA American Association of Medical Assistants within 90 Days
- CRT-Medical Assistant, Registered (RMA) - AMT American Medical Technologists within 90 Days
- CRT-Medical Assistant, American Registry (ARMA) - ARMA American Medical Technologists within 90 Days
- CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (NCMA) - NCCT National Center for Competency Testing within 90 Days
- CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (CCMA) - NHA National HealthCareer Association within 90 Days
- CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (NRCMA) - NAHP National Association for Health Professionals within 90 Days
- LIC-License Practical Nursing (LPN) - State of Michigan upon hire
- MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccine requirement
