Job Summary
Maintain patient flow by assisting and promoting the delivery of primary and preventative health care, performing technical procedures, lab protocols, and clinically oriented activities under physician direction. Act as a physician assistant by providing primary healthcare and patient care management while collaborating with clerical staff to optimize operations. Perform front office duties, provide coverage in other departments, and manage care for primary care gaps, residency clinics, and designated new hire preceptors. Execute high-level disinfection, serve as a qualified language interpreter, and support advanced provider scheduling for complex procedures or infusion/chemo. Interact with outside healthcare facilities regarding patient care and insurance, and maintain updated competencies to speak to leadership and accreditation bodies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a competency-based accredited MA program, including a clinical rotation, or equivalent experience
- 1 year (12 months) MA experience; or completed CH MA internship and (6) months MA experience; or completed CH MA apprenticeship program
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association within 30 days from hire
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross within 30 days from hire
- CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (CMA) - AAMA American Association of Medical Assistants within 90 Days
- CRT-Medical Assistant, Registered (RMA) - AMT American Medical Technologists within 90 Days
- CRT-Medical Assistant, American Registry (ARMA) - ARMA American Medical Technologists within 90 Days
- CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (NCMA) - NCCT National Center for Competency Testing within 90 Days
- CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (CCMA) - NHA National HealthCareer Association within 90 Days
- CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (NRCMA) - NAHP National Association for Health Professionals within 90 Days
- LIC-License Practical Nursing (LPN) - State of Michigan upon hire
- Completion of MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccine requirement
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 30 days from hire
