Job Summary
Provides clinical and clerical support in the Urology department, performing back-office and patient-related tasks to support the delivery of high-quality patient care under the direction of a clinician. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, administering injections, and supporting the medical plan of care; communicates clearly with patients and families, collaborates with peers and other healthcare providers, and manages time to meet department objectives. Requires HS diploma or GED (or CA Board‐approved equivalent) and BLS, with about 1 year of relevant experience, proficiency with EHR and basic computer skills, and the ability to work in a full-time, in-person daytime schedule in San Francisco.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED
- Completion of course for Medical Assistants per the Medical Board of California OR Sutter Health on-the-job training equivalent to one year
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- 1 year of recent relevant experience
- General knowledge of medical procedures and terminology
- Ability to take vital signs, prepare patients for exam, and administer injections
- Proficiency with EHR and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Time management and organizational skills
- Team-based patient care
- Ability to interpret data and instructions
- Ability to prioritize and work in a regulatory environment
