Job Summary
Direct and/or accompany patients to examining rooms, verify medical history, and take vital signs. Greet patients in person or by telephone, answer inquiries, and refer as needed. Support care delivery by preparing specimens, performing basic lab tests, administering medications, drawing blood, and assisting with x-rays. Complete medical records, record billing information, and process insurance forms. Maintain equipment, sterilize instruments, and follow infection control standards. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and complete mandatory training. Work 20 hours or more per week, including overtime as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Assistant or related healthcare training program
- Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements
