Job Summary
Medical Assistant II in Primary Care coordinates patient flow by assisting in clinical data collection for patient intake, ensuring provider has necessary information, and entering pertinent history into the medical record. The MA performs and assists with clinical procedures per protocol, supports mentoring of newer staff, and operates within a not-for-profit health system environment. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, BLS within 90 days, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or MA certification (CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA), and for MA II at least 2 years of MA experience. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required (MA II)
- Must obtain BLS through AHA within 90 days (MA II)
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or certification (MA II)
- Certification as CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA (MA II)
- 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA II)
- High School diploma or GED (MA III)
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Completion of MA program or certification (MA III)
- 5+ years experience for MA III
- Certification required (CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA) (MA III)
- Mentor and train new Medical Assistants (MA III)
