Job Summary

Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height. Show patients to examination rooms, prepare necessary equipment, and record medical history and test results in electronic health records. Collect and log blood or tissue specimens for testing, while performing general office duties such as answering telephones, taking dictation, and completing insurance forms. Clean and sterilize instruments, dispose of contaminated supplies, and prepare treatment rooms by keeping them neat, clean, and stocked. Act as a liaison with other departments to advocate for patients with a positive customer service approach. Requires a high school diploma or associate's degree, one to two years of direct medical assisting experience, and Basic Life Support certification. Per diem day shift at 500 Congress Street with hourly pay ranging from $22.75 to $24.94.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification]
  • Direct MA experience or medical field work 1-2 years
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environments
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software
  • Ability to take vital signs and manual blood pressure, as well as collect blood samples and other specimens
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Managing one's own time and the time of others
