Job Summary
Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height. Document patient data, medical history, and test results in electronic health records. Collect blood and tissue specimens, log them, and prepare for testing. Perform general office duties including answering phones, taking dictation, and completing insurance forms. Show patients to examination rooms, prepare and clean treatment spaces, and sterilize instruments. Act as a liaison with departments and advocate for patients using a positive customer service approach. Requires BLS certification; National Certification preferred. High School Diploma or Associate's Degree required. Experience in medical field work 1-2 years needed. Schedule Monday 1:00p-5:00p and Wednesday 8:00a-5:30p. Pay range $22.75 - $24.94/hour. Per diem employment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic Life Support [BLS Certification]
- Direct MA experience or medical field work 1-2 years
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environments
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Comply with all local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations
- Ability to take vital signs and manual blood pressure, as well as collect blood samples and other specimens
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
