Job Summary
Medical Assistant II at an Outpatient Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic. The role involves providing patient care and excellent customer service in a fast-paced healthcare setting, coordinating flow and provider schedules to effectively manage patient care, and performing patient registration procedures. Responsibilities include using the patient management system to mark arrivals, updating status for no-shows or reschedules, prioritizing rooming based on appointment times, assisting licensed staff with non-financial aspects of admission, aiding patient escorts and paperwork, collecting and documenting patient/family data, reporting abnormal data to RN or provider, ensuring requisitions have necessary clinical/demographic/billing information, and monitoring patient flow to minimize wait times. Additional requirement includes respiratory fit testing per occupational health standards.
Required Qualifications
- CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certificate from the National Health career Association
- CMA-AAM- Certified Medical Assistant from the American Association of Medical Assistants
- EMT Certified Emergency Medical Technologist from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
- EMT-A Certified Advanced Emergency Medical Technologist from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
- EMT-B Certified Emergency Medical Technologist-Basic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
- EMT-I Certified Emergency Medical Technologist-Intermediate from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
- EMT-P Certified Emergency Medical Technologist-Paramedic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
- LIC PAR- License Paramedic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
- NCMA- National Medical Assistant Certification from the National Center for Competency Testing
- NRCMA - Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant from the National Association of Health Professionals
- RMA- Registered Medical Assistant from the American Medical Technologists/AMT/other
- 2 years of related experience required
