Job Summary
Medical Assistant II - Orthopedics at Nemours Children’s Health in Pensacola, FL supports outpatient pediatric orthopedic specialty care by coordinating patient flow, assisting with clinical data collection and review for intake, and entering relevant history into the medical record. The MA performs and assists with clinical procedures, documents vitals and reason for visit, administers vaccines/medications per policy, conducts point-of-care testing, and acts as a liaison between patients, families, and the care team to ensure smooth visits. Schedule is Monday–Friday 8 am–5 pm. Candidate qualifications include prior Medical Assistant experience or completion of a MA program, orthopedic experience a plus, and MA certifications (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA) with BLS within 90 days of start date.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Medical Assistant strongly preferred
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
- Orthopedic experience a plus!
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred: CMA, RMA, NCMA and CCMA
- BLS certification with the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of start date
