Job Summary
Welcome patients, record vital signs and medical histories, and prepare individuals for exams while assisting providers during procedures. Administer medications and vaccines, collect lab specimens, and perform point-of-care testing. Document care accurately in the electronic health record and partner with physicians to deliver coordinated care. Work Monday through Saturday in 8-10 hour shifts, including mandatory early mornings, late nights, and one Saturday monthly.
Required Qualifications
- LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- GED or HS Equivalency Diploma
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant
- 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years
- Must work 1 early morning and 1 late night a week
- Must work 1 Saturday a month
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions
- Must be able to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Family Medicine preferred
