Medical Assistant II - NY

Medical Assistant II supports delivery of urological services in a Bronx office, performing administrative and clinical duties to keep the medical office running smoothly. Responsibilities include greeting patients, obtaining vitals, taking medical history, patient education on medications and home care, preparing patients for examinations, assisting physicians during exams, phlebotomy and lab specimen collection, performing basic lab tests, potential EKGs after training, assisting with in-office X-ray and procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring smooth patient flow. The role requires adherence to HIPAA and CMS guidelines, ability to work with the interdisciplinary team, and supporting training of new personnel. Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills, comfort with EMR and practice-management software, and a commitment to high-quality patient service are essential. Education: Medical Assistant program graduate or equivalent experience; certification/registration preferred. Experience: 6 months in a physician's office and urology experience preferred. Physical demands include ability to lift light loads and occasional travel minimal.
