Job Summary
Medical Assistant II in Rockville Centre, NY supports urological services with a mix of administrative and clinical duties. Responsibilities include coordinating appointments, greeting patients, taking vital signs, recording medical history, patient education on medications and home treatments, preparing for examinations, assisting physicians with exams, performing phlebotomy and basic lab tests, potential EKGs and CPR if certified, handling documentation and patient records, ensuring smooth back-office flow, and training/mentoring staff as needed. Requires completion of an MA program or equivalent experience; MA certification/registration preferred; minimal travel; strong organizational, communication, HIPAA-compliant skills; proficiency with EMR and office management tools; 6 months of office experience desired; urology experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience (based on State regulation requirements).
- Medical Assistant Certification or Registration preferred.
